Yvonne Stewart is our piano, keyboard and clarinet tutor.
Yvonne graduated with a BEd (hons) Music degree in 1998 from Northern College of Education in Aberdeen and has taught in various secondary schools in both Aberdeen and Glasgow, plus independent private music schools in and around the North East. She also taught for Bruce Millers Music Shop in Aberdeen for many years and now runs Aberdeen Music Tuition.

Complete beginners are welcome; you don’t need to have any musical knowledge whatsoever.

Yvonne is a registered teacher with the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) and has a 100% pass rate to date for students who have sat exams over the past 21 years. Yvonne is also a member of the ISM (Incorporated Society of Musicians) and holds an up-to-date Disclosure Scotland PVG certificate which is available to view on request.
Students can follow the ABRSM or Trinity College London syllabus in preparation for exams, or they are welcome to take lessons as a hobby. She enjoys teaching people of all ages and is very patient, friendly and encouraging.
Lessons are individually tailor-made to suit the requirements of each student and Yvonne uses the music notation software Sibelius to arrange pieces suitable, where possible, to the level of the particular student.
Yvonne worked for several years in the piano department of local music shop Bruce Millers, so can advise on buying a piano whether grand, traditional upright or digital, and can also put you in touch with an excellent piano tuner.
